ON THE ROCKS
A photobook which explores the divergent perspectives on smoking cigarettes and drinking alcohol. The visual narrative unfolds in two stages for each subject. The following are the Idea Boards.
For alcohol, the initial stage portrays an elevated and pristine experience, using red, blue, and purple colors. In contrast, the second stage presents a more realistic view, showcasing the shabbiness and weariness associated with excessive drinking. White lights are strategically used to signify the natural state of this perspective.
Similarly, the first stage of smoking is depicted with warm colors, presenting an artistic and intelligent facade. The second stage, illuminated with white lights, reveals the stressed and corroded reality of smoking.
THE PHOTOBOOK
The photobook comprises a total of 26 carefully chosen photos, emphasizing the contrast between the idealized mental constructs and the raw, unfiltered truth associated with both smoking and drinking.
